Jorge Burgos (alias ATACA Jorgie) è nato a Humacao, in Porto Rico, e all&#;età di 6 anni si è trasferito a Orlando, in Florida. Jorge è cresciuto giocando a baseball, che in seguito ha portato a Jorge una borsa di studio per il baseball alla Saint Leo University di Tampa, in Florida.
Nel , mentre continuava a frequentare il college, Jorge andò in un night club di Tampa, dove fu introdotto alla salsa in stile newyorkese. Jorge fu immediatamente attratto da quello stile di danza. Lo stesso anno Jorge iniziò a frequentare le lezioni con Salsa Caliente Dance Studio. Ha accettato la sfida di imparare questo stile di danza con la stessa passione che ha fatto con il baseball.
