बऱ्याच वर्षांनी मराठी भाषेविषयी आत्मीयता असलेला एक सनदी अधिकारी मुंबईकरांना महापालिका आयुक्त म्हणून लाभला आहे.
मराठी साहित्य हा विषय घेऊन केंद्रीय लोकसेवा आयोगाच्या परीक्षेत तिसऱ्या क्रमांकाने ते उत्तीर्ण झाले, हा तेव्हा कौतुकाचा विषय ठरला होता. गगराणी यांनी कोल्हापूरच्या छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज विद्यापीठातून वाणिज्य शाखा तसेच इतिहास विषयात पदव्युत्तर शिक्षण घेतले. नागपूर विद्यापीठात एलएलबीची पदवी त्यांनी घेतली. लंडनच्या बर्मिंगहॅम विद्यापीठात त्यांनी व्यवस्थापनाचे धडे गिरवले. मुंबई विद्या

फडणवीस के करीबी!
डॉ. भूषण गगराणी को उप मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस का करीबी मना जाता है। फडणवीस ने मुख्यमंत्री रहते हुए गगराणी की नियुक्ति मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय में की थी। उसके बाद उन्हें नगर विकास विभाग का प्रधान सचिव बनाया गया। कोरोना के दौरान में गठित टास्क फ़ोर्स में भी गगराणी को शामिल किया गया था।
नागपुर से की पढ़ाई
भूषण गगराणी ने नागपुर विद्यापीठ से एलएलबी और लंदन से एमबीए किया है। डॉ. भूषण गगराणी बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी हैं। उन्होंने आई. ए. एस. परीक्षा में तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया था और वह पहले ऐसे आईएएस अधिकारी हैं जिन्होंने मराठी भाषा में यूपीएससी परीक्षा दी थी।
लंदन और मुंबई में भी पढ़ाई
भूषण गगराणी ने एमकॉम और एमए किया है। वह कोल्हापुर विश्वविद्यालय से इतिहास में स्नातक हैं। भूषण गगराणी ने आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए नागपुर विश्वविद्यालय से एलएलबी करना चुना। उसके बाद उन्होंने बर्मिंघम यूनिवर्सिटी से एमबीए की डिग्री हासिल की। उन्होंने मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय से प्रशासन में पीएचडी भी की।
